Making it in Ontario is back!
After a one-year hiatus, Making it in Ontario, the official podcast of the Trillium Network for Advanced Manufacturing, is back.
Making it in Ontario is the only podcast focusing exclusively on Ontario’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem. Featuring conversations with manufacturing executives and industry experts, Making it in Ontario explores topics vital to the competitiveness of the province’s advanced manufacturing sector. These topics include productivity, manufacturing careers, and the core elements of a manufacturing strategy for Ontario.
Joining Trillium Network managing director Brendan Sweeney is podcast producer (extraordinaire), geographer (like Brendan), and recovering economic developer Michelle Samson. Michelle and Brendan look back at some of our favourite episodes of the first iteration of Making it in Ontario and offer a glimpse into the exciting topics the podcast will cover in the next few weeks and months. These upcoming discussions will explore productivity, a forward-thinking manufacturing strategy for Ontario, and how Ontario manufacturers are creating new opportunities and career pathways to inspire the next generation of highly-qualified manufacturing professionals.
One upcoming episode will feature a conversation with Jayson Myers, the CEO of Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen), the country’s advanced manufacturing supercluster. This episode will focus on a new report co-published by the Trillium Network and NGen. The report examines the state of productivity in Canadian manufacturing, with the intention of identifying ways to set a new and improved trajectory for the sector. There are few people more knowledgeable about this topic than Jay, you won’t want to miss this episode.
New episodes of Making it in Ontario can be found on the Trillium Network website and wherever you listen to podcasts. Classic episodes can be found here.
If you have an idea for an episode or know an advanced manufacturing leader who is a great fit for Making it in Ontario, we’d love to hear from you. We are especially interested in the leaders of companies that have implemented new strategies to attract, retain, and inspire the next generation(s) of the advanced manufacturing workforce.
